Dan Brown Movies In Order
In 2000, author Dan Brown published his novel Angels & Demons. The book – a mystery thriller – featured the lead character Robert Langdon, a professor of symbology at Harvard University.
Langdon would become the primary character in follow-up novels, The Da Vinci Code (2003), The Lost Symbol (2009), Inferno (2013) and Origin (2017). The popularity of the character, as well as the popularity of the books, led to a series of big budget, feature-length adaptations.
But what are all the Robert Langdon movies and what is the best order to watch them in?
- Dan Gerhard Brown was born on June 22, 1964, in Exeter, New Hampshire. He has a younger sister, Valerie (born 1968) and brother, Gregory (born 1974). Brown attended Exeter's public schools until the ninth grade.
- Oct 17, 2016 Dan Brown, meanwhile, is working on his fifth Robert Langdon story, Origin, which has a 2017 release date, and I assume that's the project to which Tom Hanks refers when he says that if it 'comes.
The films, based on the novel series written by Dan Brown, center around the fictional character of Robert Langdon. Though based on the book series, the films have a different chronological order, consisting of: The Da Vinci Code (2006), Angels & Demons (2009) and Inferno (2016).

The Robert Langdon movies in order
The first Robert Langdon book to be adapted for the big screen was The Da Vinici Code, which arrived in theatres in 2006. In this movie, Tom Hanks took on the role of Langdon, alongside a cast that included Audrey Tautou, Sir Ian McKellen and Alfred Molina.
Directed by Ron Howard, The Da Vinci Code was a financial success and led to a follow-up, in the shape of 2009’s Angels & Demons. Howard returned as director and Hanks reprised the role of Langdon, alongside a cast that included Ewan McGregor and Stellan Skarsgård.
Once again, Angels & Demons proved to be a financial hit and this led to a third adaptation – 2016’s Inferno. Felicity Jones and Ben Foster joined the cast, with both Howard and Hanks returning to their roles of director and star, respectively.
As you will note, the books were not adapted in the order they were published. As such, the timelines of the film and book series differ.

Robert Langdon is a world-renowned, trusted Harvard symbologist who is constantly summoned to various buildings such as museums, research facilities, etc, to analyze inscriptions and symbols hidden in or on objects, among others.
In Angels and Demons, he has to analyze a mysterious symbol that is burned into the chest of a murdered physicist. In Da Vinci Code, he is summed to Louvre to inspect a strange inscription found next to the body of a murdered museum curator.
In The Lost Symbol, we are in the US where Langdon is delivering a lecture in the U.S. Capitol Building. The story, of course, also involves a strange object with some inscriptions on it as well.
